Fed at the Table

*Note: There were some recording glitches in parts of the message, but we trust the main invitation remains clear: Come to the Table and meet with Christ.

This powerful exploration of Holy Communion challenges us to see the Lord's Table not as a mere memorial, but as a living encounter with Christ's presence and grace. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 11, we're invited to understand communion as a 'means of grace'—a guaranteed place where God has promised to meet us, nourish us, and strengthen us. The Hebrew concept of 'zakar' transforms our understanding of remembrance from passive reflection to active participation in the power of Christ's sacrifice. When we come to the table, we step into the river of God's grace, receiving afresh the forgiveness, cleansing, redemption, sanctification, access, and healing that the blood of Jesus has secured. The sermon confronts our tendency toward casual or selective grace, reminding us that this is a table set for both the wounded and the wounder, the betrayed and the betrayer. We're called to approach with four essential postures: self-examining hearts that bring our lives into God's light, humble hearts that acknowledge our deep need for Christ, hungry and eager hearts that long for this spiritual nourishment, and repentant hearts willing to exchange our burdens for His grace. This isn't about earning God's favor but positioning ourselves where He has promised to give Himself freely and fully.
